The latest Orvis Hydros Reel represents Orvis' unwavering commitment to improvement and innovation. Building upon the foundation of a best-selling reel, unnecessary material has been removed to further decrease weight while enhancing the stiffness of the narrow spool, thereby reducing line stacking. The drag knob has been redesigned to be more ergonomically friendly and comfortable to handle. We've also upgraded the seal on the sealed drag for superior protection of the clutch bearing in the drag mechanism. Just like the Mirage, the reel foot has been radiused for optimal leader protection without kinking.

The fully sealed drag, featuring stacked carbon and stainless steel disc washers, remains one of the industry's most powerful, offering zero start-up inertia. The matte type II anodized finish, coupled with the standard large arbor size, perfectly complements lighter-weight fly rods while still delivering excellent retrieval rates and reducing line coiling. Offered in matte black with silver accents or matte silver with charcoal accents, the Orvis Hydros Fly Reel is a testament to continuous refinement and exceptional quality.
