As the flagship reel in the Galvan lineup, the Torque Series reels are the manifestation of a lifelong devotion to fly-fishing and a fervor for reel design innovation. In simple terms, it represents the cream of the crop in modern fly reel design. The inception of the Torque series was rooted in Boni's aspiration to develop a ground-breaking reel that boasted a more robust drag system than any others on the market. Additionally, it had to exude allure. This vision was the genesis of the Torque series reels.

The unique Torque reel, Boni's fourth series, was the first to incorporate our Torque drag system, now a staple in all our reels. The design process began in late 2002, with prototypes taking shape in 2003. After exhaustive testing, fine-tuning, and adjustments, it was finally released to the public in 2004. Achievements included winning the 2004 Editor’s Choice in Fly Fish America and securing #3 in the recent Yellowstone Angler’s 8-wt reel shootout, outperforming a host of competitors in both function and price. Its distinctive style and innovative porting consolidated Galvan's reputation as a progressive innovator in the industry.
