Kinda like the sandy-bottomed rivers of these northern latitudes, kinda like freckles on a kid.  You decide.  Either way, this is one beautiful and unique fly box. Black Walnut for the box sides brings out every quirk in the Birdseye Maple. The hand-carved trout in the oval inset ("Flying Brown") is also Black Walnut. Inside: ripple foam on one side, flat foam on the other.  Small brass cylinder hinges and inset magnet closure catch for cleanest of looks.  Signed on back lid, upper left. Approximately 4 1/2 " long, 3" wide, 1 1/4" thick.
